Listed below are some ways YOU can help protect wildlife around your area and beyond:
1. Educate Yourself
Visit your local library or hop on the internet. It’s amazing what you will learn in just one day.
Sustainable agricultural practices have the ability to maintain habitats as well as improve water and soil conditions. Agricultural training is essential and has a crucial impact on biodiversity.
3. Create Space For Animals
Plant native trees and plants that will be beneficial to wildlife around your area. While doing so, do not use any pesticides or fertilizers. They are harmful to animals. If you can, compost. Composting can stop the need of fertilizer. Restore.
4. Reduce Your Carbon Footprint
- Throw on a couple layers and turn down your thermostat
- Choose energy efficient appliances
- Use compact fluorescent bulbs
- Use a bike, public transportation, or carpool
- Go vegan
- Conserve water
Be a voice for all wildlife. Be a voice for this planet. Speak up and encourage others to as well. Don’t wait for someone to do something wrong, prevent it from happening.
6. Travel Smart
Do your research before you go on vacation. Stay away from harmful activities and places where they exploit animals to make a direct profit. If you are able to interact freely with or ride wild animals then stay away.
7. Shop Smart
Do not purchase any products made from or tested on animals. 1. Because it’s wrong 2. We can bring the need for illegal wildlife trafficking to an end with your help. While on vacation in another country there will be a lot more protected wildlife souvenirs available. The animal your purchase came from was probably still alive when they hacked that part of them off. How would you feel? Do NOT buy them.
Make a donation to an organization that protects and defends this planet and wildlife. Whether it’s $1 or $1,000, it is so true that every penny can make a difference.
One of the best ways to directly impact animals and nature is through volunteering. Organizations are always looking for volunteers and with the help of your hands on efforts and voice there is a future for wildlife.
